Americans are not getting what they need - at least when it comes to calcium. 9 out of 10 women, and 7 out of 10 men don't get the recommended amount of calcium daily.

Calcium helps maintain strong bones and teeth, and plays an important role in nerve function, muscle contraction and blood clotting.

Milk Helps With Strong Bones

Osteoporosis, or weak and brittle bones, is a crippling disease that affects 28 million Americans. And even though we normally think of osteoporosis as an older person's problem,it starts in childhood.

Getting enough calcium in your early and teen years can prevent osteoporosis. Alarmingly, the majority of teens and children don't get enough calcium. Our young people are not developing strong bones when they are young, and are developing problems as they age.

3 Servings a Day

Three servings of dairy products every day provides the calcium you need. Take a low-fat chocolate milk break in the afternoon.
