Your Dairy Dollars At Work

This website is possible because of Vermont dairy farmers. Your hard work and hard earned dollars pay for this site and Vermont dairy marketing programs.

You pay a 15 cent checkoff on every 100 pounds of milk your cows produce. 10 of this 15 cents goes to the Vermont Dairy Promotion Council. This council oversees the use of this money, roughly $2.6 million each year.

Dairy Research and Promotion

The Vermont Dairy Promotion Council is a council made up of dairy farmers, chaired by the Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture. This council was created by state statute, or law.

The council meets two times a year, in December and April.

The council funds dairy promotion activities by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture and the New England Dairy Promotion Board, as well as research at the University of Vermont.
