From the Farm to You
Vermont dairy farms produce many products we all enjoy. Whether you are drinking an ice cold glass of milk, or enjoying the views of our rural state, you can appreciate the hard work of Vermont’s dairy families. Dairy farmers milk their cows at least two times every day, seven days a week. Some farmers milk their cows three times a day, some farmers do not milk their cows in the winter. These farms are called seasonal dairies, and the cows dry off, or stop giving milk, during the cold winter months. Many dairy farmers produce and sell maple syrup, pumpkins or sweet corn. Some farmers make and sell cheese. |
